1905 was a big year in Utah- Salt Lake was growing with new mansions on South Temple, office buildings built by mining magnates, a brand-new Federal Building plus plans for 2 big railway stations on the west side of town.  While Salt Lakers gleaned at the thought of Pullman railways cars pulling into their hometown, ________ Stringham launched what would become Utah’s most prominent and longstanding haberdashery on South Temple.  Utah Woolen Mills (UWM) was originally founded as knitting company and grew into a full-fledged woolen mill by the 1970’s. The family owned, 5th generation business now caters to those with discerning tastes who appreciate “getting what you pay for.”   UWM sells and will fit you in Zegna suits, AG Jeans or pair of John Lobb’s for the feet.   If your down by South Temple and West Temple at the entrance to City Creek, you can’t help but run into one of the Stringham clan or their staff, all dressed to the nines.. good for these guys for setting the standard of how we used to, and still should dress in the City.  Visit their website for more info and also check out their Suited for Good program.
